Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Paybunny is a money app for couples, made by Digital Park LLC ("Paybunny", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Paybunny mobile app and https://www.paybunny.ai.
The short version: we use your information to run Paybunny for you and your partner. We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and we never see or store your bank username or password.
Information you give us
- Account details: your first and last name, phone number (used to sign in), and, if you add them, your email address and profile photo.
- Your partner: the phone number you use to invite your partner, and the couple name you choose.
- What you add in the app: expenses and bills, how you split them, budgets, savings goals and contributions, tags and category changes on transactions, and notes.
- Chat: the questions you ask in Ask Paybunny and the answers you receive.
- Support: anything you send us when you contact us.
Information from your bank, through Plaid
When you link a bank, card or other financial account, we use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to connect to it. You sign in to your bank through Plaid, not through us, so Paybunny never receives or stores your bank login details.
With your permission, Plaid shares with us:
- Account information: the institution, account name and type, the last four digits of the account number, and balances.
- Transactions: date, amount, merchant name, category, and whether a transaction is pending.
- Recurring payments Plaid detects, so we can suggest bills to add.
Plaid collects and processes your data under its own End User Privacy Policy (https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy). By linking an account you acknowledge that policy.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: device type, operating system, app version, and crash and error reports, so we can keep the app working.
- A push notification token, if you allow notifications, so we can tell you about bills, budgets and summaries.
- Basic usage information, such as which features are used and how often you ask questions in Chat, to improve Paybunny and to apply the free-plan limit.
We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Face ID or Touch ID, if you turn on the app lock, is handled entirely by your device. We never receive your biometric data.
How we use your information
- To provide Paybunny: show your balances, spending, expenses, budgets and goals, and keep them up to date.
- To share with your partner what you've chosen to share as a couple (see "What your partner can see").
- To answer your questions in Chat and write your insights and summaries.
- To send notifications you've turned on, like bills due, budgets nearing their limit and weekly summaries.
- To process your subscription and apply the free-plan limit.
- To keep Paybunny secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
- To respond to you when you contact us.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
What your partner can see
Paybunny is built for two people. Once your partner joins, you both see:
- Every account either of you links, marked as yours, your partner's or joint, with its balances and transactions.
- Expenses, budgets, goals, tags and category changes either of you makes.
- Who has put what toward each goal.
Only the person who linked an account can remove it. Removing it takes its balances and transactions out of Paybunny for both of you.
Your conversations in Ask Paybunny are your own; your partner doesn't see them. Answers only use information you can both already see in the app.
Please link only accounts you're comfortable sharing with your partner.
AI features
Ask Paybunny, insights and summaries are written with Anthropic's Claude. To answer a question, we send Anthropic your question, recent messages in your conversation, and the figures needed to answer it from your Paybunny data (for example, spending totals by category). We don't send your bank login details or full account numbers.
Anthropic processes this data on our behalf under commercial terms that don't allow it to use your data to train its models.
AI can make mistakes. Answers are for information only and are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to run Paybunny, with service providers bound by contract to protect it and use it only for us:
- Plaid, to connect your financial accounts.
- Clerk, to sign you in with your phone number.
- Convex, which hosts our database and servers.
- Anthropic, for Chat, insights and summaries.
- Stripe, to process Paybunny Plus subscriptions. We never receive your full card number.
- Expo, Apple and Google, to deliver push notifications.
- Brandfetch, to show merchant logos. We send only the merchant's website (like "spotify.com"), never your personal information.
We may also share information:
- With your partner, as described above.
- If required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, Paybunny or others.
- As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
- With your consent.
How long we keep it
- Account, financial and in-app data: for as long as your account is open.
- Chat messages: 90 days, then they're deleted.
- When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days and disconnect your linked accounts from Plaid. Copies in encrypted backups are deleted within a further 30 days. If your partner still uses Paybunny, the expenses, budgets and goals you shared stay with them; the accounts you linked and their transactions don't.
- We may keep limited records longer where the law requires it (for example, subscription and tax records), or to resolve disputes and enforce our terms.
If you leave a couple, the accounts you linked and the data you created stop being shared with your former partner going forward.
How we protect it
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Bank connections use Plaid access tokens that are kept only on our servers, never on your device.
- We never see or store your bank username or password.
- Access to personal data within our team is limited to people who need it to run Paybunny.
- You can lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correct: see and edit your profile in the app, or ask us for a copy of your data.
- Delete: delete your account in the app's settings, or email us.
- Disconnect accounts: remove a linked account in the app at any time. You can also manage your connections through Plaid Portal (https://my.plaid.com).
- Notifications: turn them off in your device settings.
Depending on your state (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Utah), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access, correct or delete it, to get a copy in a portable format, and to opt out of its sale, sharing for targeted advertising, or profiling. We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising or profiling. We use sensitive information, such as your financial account information, only to provide Paybunny.
To make a request, email office@digitalpark.studio. We'll verify your identity before acting on it and respond within the time the law requires, usually 45 days. You can use an authorized agent. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Children
Paybunny is for adults 18 and over in the United States. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as Paybunny changes. If we make a material change, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
